Two days of world-class Enduro racing in the Pearl of Africa – Uganda. The Elgon Enduro saw riders from 8 nations compete over 2 days and six stages of incredible riding on the slopes of Mount Elgon – a 4321m extinct volcano that straddles Eastern Ugandan and Western Kenya. The terrain is rugged and natural, steep rocky and loose in sections but also fast and flowy. 2019 saw live timing with NFC chips, a full media crew and some very fast riders descend on Sipi Falls for Uganda’s most epic mountain bike race. Will Clark, a resident in Uganda is the brains behind the operation but was joined by a crew of fast Swiss riders this year to help build trails led by Adrian Räss. The crew put 6 weeks of work into these epic trails to make them even better, make them flow, build some fun jumps and make the riding genuinely world class.
Interacting with the local people is an integral part of riding up here, shouts of ‘Muzungu How are You!’ as you ride and the children chasing after the riders makes this place a unique place to ride. We employed 75 locals over the weekend to work as marshals and help guide the way, putting money directly into the community we ride through.
We had riders join us from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Switzerland and the UK. They all have incredible experiences to share from the weekend and the level of stoke was super high!
