FORMAT:

The Enduro World Series defines Enduro Racing as:

“Enduro mountain bike racing is designed to be the definitive test for the mountain biker, with the focus of each event on creating a great atmosphere, community, competition and adventure for the competitor, including the best riding on the best terrain available in the host region.

The racing platform… …allows riders to compete against each other, starting individually, on special stages which are designed to challenge the rider’s technical ability and physical capacity.”

We have designed our race around this format with two days of Enduro stages on the beautiful slopes of Mount Elgon. For more information on all things Enduro check : ENDURO WORLD SERIES

WHERE:

The Elgon Enduro takes place on the slopes of Mt. Elgon in Eastern Uganda, close to the Kenyan border. The event HQ is in Sipi Falls, a popular tourist destination, famous for giant waterfalls, Arabica coffee and the most incredible sunsets! The Capital City of Uganda is Kampala and the Airport is in Entebbe (EBB), about 350km drive (6-8 hours drive). It’s easy to fly and there are often cheap flights from Europe with most major airlines having Entebbe as a destination.

Accommodation and race HQ:

The event is hosted from Noah’s Ark Campsite - directly across the road from Sipi River Lodge in Sipi Falls, Uganda. This is a very rural area of the country - the nearest city is Mbale an hour away. The closest ATMs and very basic supermarkets are in Kapchorwa 12km away. You should come to the race prepared with everything you need.

All our race options will use accommodation at Noah’s Ark and this will be the race HQ. Here we will hold all our briefings, meetings, have a bike wash and mechanic set up as well as group meals, parties etc. We will also meet here at the pre-arranged start times for each day of racing. Our full race packages includes accommodation here in rooms for the first 20 to sign up and after that tented accommodation with mattresses and pillows provided.

The accommodation at Noah’s Ark is basic shared accommodation - if you want an upgrade you can stay across the road at Sipi River Lodge - the best place to stay in Sipi - if you’re interested in this as an option let us know for an adjusted quote.

If you select the domestic package you must sort your own accommodation - ask us for more details.
